Terms of Service
Plain-English terms for hosting and development work. If something here is unclear, ask — I'd rather explain it than have you agree to something you didn't follow.

1. Who you're dealing with
These services are provided by Joshua Trevor Noeth, trading as Web Coding (ABN 38 891 005 321), a sole trader based in New South Wales, Australia. Throughout these terms, "we" and "I" mean the same thing, and "you" means the person or business buying the service.
By paying for hosting or engaging development work, you agree to these terms.
2. What the hosting service is
Managed WordPress hosting puts your WordPress site on a shared server we own and maintain, located in Australia. Your site gets its own isolated account, its own database and a free SSL certificate. Once your site is ready, your login details are emailed to you.
Dedicated servers are quoted and set up personally rather than through self-serve checkout. Prices shown on the hosting page are the ongoing monthly rate; we'll confirm scope with you before anything is provisioned or charged.
3. Pricing, billing and GST
- All prices are in Australian dollars.
- Hosting is billed monthly in advance by Stripe, starting the day you subscribe. Your card is charged automatically each month until you cancel.
- Web Coding is not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged on these services and invoices are issued without a GST component. If that changes, you'll be told before it affects your bill.
- We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email. Existing customers are not repriced mid-period.
- Development work, migrations outside the free scope, and email migration are quoted separately as fixed-price work and are not part of your hosting subscription.
4. Free migration
We migrate a standard WordPress or Magento 2 site to our hosting free of charge. "Standard" means a single site running on ordinary hosting infrastructure. Multi-site networks, custom server software, bespoke deployment pipelines, and migrations from platforms other than WordPress or Magento 2 are quoted as fixed-price work first — we'll always tell you the price before starting, and you're free to say no.
Email migration is always quoted separately. It carries more risk than website migration and we'd rather scope it properly than rush it.
5. What you're responsible for
- Keeping your login details secure, and telling us promptly if you think they've been exposed.
- The content you publish, and having the right to publish it.
- Your WordPress themes and plugins, unless we've separately agreed to maintain them for you.
- Keeping your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose. See section 7.
- Paying on time.
6. What you can't use the hosting for
You may not use our servers for anything illegal under Australian law, or for: sending bulk unsolicited email; distributing malware; phishing or impersonation; storing or sharing material that infringes someone else's copyright; or activity that deliberately degrades the service for other customers.
Cryptocurrency mining, public file-sharing or media-streaming services, and running the account primarily as a mail relay are not permitted on shared hosting — they consume resources other customers have paid for.
If we have to act on any of this, we'll contact you first wherever it's safe to do so. Where a site is actively causing harm — sending spam, serving malware, or under attack — we may suspend it immediately and tell you straight afterwards.
7. Backups
You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of your website, database and content. Any backups we hold are kept for our own operational purposes and should not be relied on as your only copy. We don't guarantee that a backup will exist, be current, or be recoverable at the moment you need it.
8. Uptime and support
We aim to keep every site online continuously and to respond to support email within one business day. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside business hours wherever possible, and you'll be told in advance when it will affect you.
We don't offer a contractual uptime guarantee or service credits on these plans. Hosting depends on infrastructure providers, networks and power that are outside our control, and we'd rather not promise a number we can't enforce on your behalf. If you need a formal SLA, talk to us about a dedicated arrangement.
9. Suspension and termination
If payment fails, we'll try again and email you. If the account remains unpaid, the site may be suspended — taken offline, with your files and database kept in place — so you can restore it by bringing the account up to date.
You can cancel at any time. See our refunds and cancellation policy for what happens to your data and your billing when you do.
We may end the service with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of section 6. If we end it for convenience, you'll be refunded the unused part of your current month and given help moving your site elsewhere.
10. Intellectual property
Your content and your site remain yours. For development work, ownership of the code we write for you transfers to you once the work has been paid for in full. Anything we built before your project, or that we use across multiple clients, remains ours and you get a perpetual licence to use it as part of your site.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the service, or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
Beyond that, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim. We're not liable for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and both of us submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
